Specialize to Maximize

In order to achieve more we need to venture deeper and deeper into the details of our goal. When you want to improve physically after a while, standard exercise won't do. You may need to specialize the exercise in order to maximize the results. Specialize the Exercise in order to Maximize the results! This may mean diving deeper into the woods on some things that may seem like they don't matter. I don't really want to learn how to create an online store, but I need one if I need/want to sell items online. I may not want to learn about payment strurtures or LLC's but I need to in order to move on with business. Just like you may not want to learn a new work out move when those squats are hard enough. But progress stalls when our education does.  We need to realize that the work doesn't stop with the knowledge of the task at hand. It includes learning how the task functions, how to maximize the results from the effort put forth and best to adapt.  So this is what we ...

Taking Action When We Don't Have Direction

Image
What do you do when you want to be productive but you don't know where to turn or what to do? Every morning I want to check something off of a list, to get ever closer to the goal of becoming the person that I long to be. To have the financial freedom that I desire to have and some mornings, I feel like I'm here ready to work, but there is no work to be done.  Most mornings, the day is already full of obstacles to overcome. The day starts with those monotonous actions of daily life, cleaning around the house. Preparing for the day, rushing off to work. The actions themselves need to happen and so they do. They eat up time and they don't let our brains focus on daily tasks. Other days, I find myself with time and quiet and thoughts that scream so loud because they are not being drowned out by the roar of chaos is a life full of kids and duty.  So now that I have the time. What do I do? Where do I focus this energy? Mind map. Start to write down words. Just list. Jot down...

The Power of Self-Belief

Image
The Power of Self-Belief  What happens when we lack self-belief? When we doubt our abilities and question our worth? It's hard to focus on a single purpose when we are unsure of ourselves. We need to believe in ourselves  before we can expect others to believe in us. The process of change begins internally. We need to change before the world will see it. We need to understand who we are and what we are truly capable of. It's not about the idealized version of ourselves that we may try to present to the world, but the day-to-day version that exists when no one is looking. Is that person who we really are and who we really want to be? Understanding ourselves, why we succeed and why we fail is key to building self-belief. When we succeed and achieve great feats, it's often because of our confidence, tenacity, and strength. We know what we're doing in those toughest of moments, and that knowledge gives us the confidence to push through and succeed. But when we are uns...

Motivational Words To Live By!

Image
1. Be aware.      Live in the Moment.   2. Push to the point of failure.      Get comfortable with it.  3. Commit!      To greatness. To consistency. To Direction. To effectiveness.     Stop being the student and put it into practice. 4. Outwork the competition.     You may not be the biggest or the fastest or the smartest. But you can always work the hardest.  5. Prepare for tomorrow. 6. Provide!     Provide extreme service. Provide extreme value. 7. Don't be embarrassed.     Be proud of what you are doing and how hard you are working. Who cares if you're doing more than      others or different than others.  8. Profit from it.      People want a deal. Not the best price. But the best value.  9. Create goals.     Look at them. Focus on them. Achieve them. There are no shortcuts to your destiny !

Journal 4-6-23

As I sit in the morning, typing out ideas and drinking my coffee I wonder to myself if this is the best use of my time, efforts and energy. I want to do so much. I want to accomplish so many things but I still don't have the true north direction to follow. There is no Google Maps to lead me to my end goal as I don't truly know what my end goal is. My only direction is to follow my heart and keep working towards that which leads from here. The next logical step. But what is that and where is it.  Recently I created a daily goals list. This includes work out reps that I need to complete and tasks that I need to do. I check them off as I go. This list is becoming more helpful the more I look to it and the more that I trust it. I can't remember everything, so this list helps me to see what I need to do. It shows me things that I may have forgotten.  At first it seems embarrassing to have a list. To leave it out where you can see and others might as well. But all it is are ch...

Shortening Loading Times

Image
It seems to me that the time between us wanting to achieve something and actually doing the project is something like a load time. It's the time for us to switch mentally and physically into the new/next task. And at least for me this "Load Time" can be anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour. But why? Well in computers the load time is the time between submitting a request or clicking a link and the time that it takes for that task to fully load or appear.  And just like computers if we have multiple other programs running at the same time, our load time will drag due to the amount of information that our RAM is trying to process. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? Well it means that if you want to jump into a task more quickly and efficiently, then you must close out the other programs.  So turn off the TV. Put down your phone. Stand up.  You will increase the amount of time in your day because we don't even realize how much "load time" is really spent. Because in your mind...

How to Get Moving When You Don't Feel Like It!

When you don't feel like doing something that needs to be done, it can be challenging to motivate yourself to take action. Here are some strategies that you can use to overcome this: Break it down into smaller tasks: Sometimes the thought of doing a big task can be overwhelming. By breaking it down into smaller, more manageable tasks, it can become less daunting and easier to tackle. Set a timer: Sometimes, setting a timer for a short amount of time (e.g., 15 minutes) can help you get started on a task. Once the timer goes off, you can decide if you want to keep working on the task or take a break. Change your environment: If you're feeling unmotivated, changing your environment can help. Try moving to a different room or working outside. Use a reward system: Reward yourself for completing a task. For example, if you wash the dishes, you can treat yourself to something you enjoy, like watching an episode of your favorite show. Focus on the benefits: Think about the benefits o...

Don't Be Embarrassed

Image
I've been trying to improve. Work out everyday and I created a checklist of the things that I need to do consistently. Squats, push ups, curls, kettle bell swings. 10 reps each. Each rep gets a checked off on my list. It's my way of tracking my progress and it works for me.  I even took a pair of push up handles to work so that in a free moment I can sneak over to the other side of the store that I work in and get a set in. A fast set of squats or dips or whatever I can squeeze into a couple of minutes here or there.  I listen carefully to make sure that no one is around and I do my reps. 1, 2, 3, I pause. Waiting, listening to the silence. Is someone coming I ask myself? If someone did come around the corner, it might be awkward for sure, but I'm not doing anything wrong. I'm just... Embarrassed.  Why am I embarrassed to be attempting to work out in this quiet moment of mine? Why am I so worried about judgement? For many of us, we are embarrassed by the process, we don...

Work

Image
What is that makes us successful? What is it that makes our dreams come true? What is it that can separate you from the rest of the people? Work. Work is a consistent factor that allows us to leave the competition behind. If you want to be the best at something you have to put the work in. That's why people say that if you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life, it's because it becomes a labor of love.   If it's passion that drives you. Passion fades.  If it's motivation that moves you. Motivation leaves us after a short time.  But if it's you knowing what needs to get done and you do it, whether or not you feel like it. If you do it whether or not you're in a good mood or you have the time or energy. You're putting in the work and you can achieve whatever you are looking to achieve.  It took me a long time to realize that. That work needs to occur in these moments. I would look for motivation. I would look for energy. I would look for t...
