The Power of Self-Belief
The Power of Self-Belief
What happens when we lack self-belief? When we doubt our abilities and question our worth? It's hard to focus on a single purpose when we are unsure of ourselves. We need to believe in ourselves before we can expect others to believe in us.
The
process of change begins internally. We need to change before the world will
see it. We need to understand who we are and what we are truly capable of. It's
not about the idealized version of ourselves that we may try to present to the world, but
the day-to-day version that exists when no one is looking. Is that person who
we really are and who we really want to be?
Understanding ourselves, why we succeed and why we fail is key to building self-belief. When we succeed and achieve great feats, it's often because of our confidence, tenacity, and strength. We know what we're doing in those toughest of moments, and that knowledge gives us the confidence to push through and succeed. But when we are unsure, we get insecure and are more likely to give up on the task at hand.
Self-belief requires us to:
1.
Believe in who we are
2.
Believe in our skills and abilities
3.
Recognize our strengths and gifts
4.
Create opportunities
5. Be relentless in our pursuits
The real question is not do we believe in ourselves? But, do we have the strength, the intelligence, the tenacity to chase our dreams? It's not just about how badly we want something; it's about having the right tools. We may want to build a house, but it won't be a good house if we don't have the tools, the materials, and the knowledge to create a solid foundation. It's about being kind to ourselves and allowing room for mistakes and setbacks.
The power of focus and self-belief cannot be overstated. We need to believe in ourselves and our abilities before we can expect others to believe in us. The process of change begins internally, and building self-belief requires us to believe in who we are, our skills and abilities, our strengths and gifts, and to chase down opportunities relentlessly. And with a clear goal, a plan, and a sense of purpose, we can keep motivation at the top of our minds day in and day out.
