Work


 What is that makes us successful? What is it that makes our dreams come true? What is it that can separate you from the rest of the people?

Work. Work is a consistent factor that allows us to leave the competition behind. If you want to be the best at something you have to put the work in. That's why people say that if you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life, it's because it becomes a labor of love.  

If it's passion that drives you. Passion fades. 

If it's motivation that moves you. Motivation leaves us after a short time. 

But if it's you knowing what needs to get done and you do it, whether or not you feel like it. If you do it whether or not you're in a good mood or you have the time or energy. You're putting in the work and you can achieve whatever you are looking to achieve. 

It took me a long time to realize that. That work needs to occur in these moments. I would look for motivation. I would look for energy. I would look for the time and the place and moment. And most of the time, it doesn't come. Time keeps ticking and the majority of the time we're not in the mood to do more hard work, because we feel like we do enough. 

But here is the truth. Everyone out there is doing just enough. Just enough to get by. Just enough to make it to tomorrow. Just enough to not completely fall apart. But just enough isn't enough to win. Just enough is "ok" when you want to play some basketball or tennis at the park. It's not good enough to be in the major leagues.

Just enough should never be our go to, but for most it is. It's because we can look at others and say "at least I'm doing more than them." But that is the easy way out. That does not create success. That creates mediocrity at best. 

Let's make a vow to put in the work. To make our dreams come true. Any of them. All of them. It won't be easy. It won't always be fun. But it will be fulfilling and you and I will achieve more than we ever thought possible.

In the pursuit of our dreams, thoughts, or ideas, it's often natural to feel a sense of vulnerability. Sharing these aspirations can be awkward, driven by the fear of judgment or criticism. The concern that others might dismiss or find fault in our dreams can be paralyzing, causing us to keep them hidden within ourselves. Attention Creation

I watched a video the other day that said attention is the newest form of currency.  That grabbing someone else’s attention was worth more than money or your time because you were capturing “Their” time.  And then I walked into a grocery store. Upon entering the grocery store, I encountered vibrant displays of beers in display in the fridge. The array of colors, diverse packaging, and assorted characters, each with artistic and sometimes abstract elements, had my attention. I stood looking over the selection. It was then that it struck me that every detail was meticulously designed, all in a collective effort to vie for my attention with the ultimate goal of enticing me to make a purchase.  As I walked through the store towards the counter I looked at the bags of chips.
