When I Feel Lost

There are days when I feel like I don’t know what I’m doing. I feel lost. These are the days when I’m not myself. When things have gone wrong. We can all have off moments or days. We can all feel like our wheels are spinning but we can’t seem to get any traction.

These are the times when we must rely on muscle memory. We must rely on habits and daily rituals. But it’s in these moments where we’re just trying to make it through that we should make it a point to think about all we’re grateful for. All the positives that we’ve achieved.  It’s through that that we’ll begin to pull ourselves out of the funk of being unsure and find a way back to where we need to be.

"Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm."

- Winston S. Churchill

As humans, the pursuit of opportunities often resembles a challenging battle, each victory tough fought and  hard earned. Yet, the beauty lies in the realization that this journey is a game, and each new day brings fresh opportunities. Tomorrow and the day after offer us the chance for something new, and armed with this awareness, we have an incredible advantage. The advantage of time and perspective.

So many of us get lost in moments of sorrow or defeat and lose track of overall goals. We can easily lose sight of the big picture because, the moment that we live in (the NOW) is naturally the most important moment to us. The past is gone and the future is our future selves' problem. But in reality it’s our perspective and our persistence that gives us the winning edge.

The next opportunity may be around the corner. And so we need to be ready for that moment. Don’t give into that feeling of being lost. Don’t think for a moment that your hard work was in vain. Keep pushing. For you. For your family. For everything and everyone you love.
